Baby Eagle tagged

The young eagle below is pictured withRowan, Holly and Rosie Morrogh Bernard who were helping Keith Brockie of the Tayside Raptor Study Group put a leg tag on the chick to assist with future monitoring.

She is the offspring of the Glen Bruar pair of eagles that we monitored by eagle cam in 2009. The eagles are under close watch in a Special Protection Area which is a designated site for eagle conservation.

The Estate is a member of Operation Countrywatch which is partnership with Scottish Natural Heritage, Tayside Police, RSPB and Tayside RSG. The Partnership’s remit is “to improve regional communication and cooperation among those with an interest in moorlands, to prevent wildlife crime and to promote the conservation value, economic value and wise management of heather moorland and its associated species”.

Goldie the chick is in good condition and likely to fledge before the end of July.
