Events Calendar

The Ranger Service organises lots of events throughout the year, with the main Ranger events programme running from June to October. The walks are open to all, but children must be accompanied by an adult. To see specific lists of Adults' and Family events, click the menu on the left.

Booking is only required on those walks that state BOOKING ESSENTIAL - otherwise, just turn up. Many of our walks are accessible for people with mobility difficulties or other disabilities or can be easily adapted. Sat 4 April EGG OLYMPICS
Some eggy activities for families - including painting, quiz, obstacle course and egg race. Please bring a (well-trained) hard-boiled egg with you.

Fri 10 April DEER, PONIES, LAMBS AND CALVES
A walk on the farm to see spring new-born calves and lambs and get a look at our red deer and Atholl highland ponies too.

Sat 16 - Sun 17 May  WILD NIGHT OUT
Sleep out and experience the night-time sights and sounds of nature. Join the rangers for evening and morning wildlife activities.

Sun 14 June  MOUNTAIN WILDLIFE WALK

Tues 23 June  MAR LODGE TO FOREST LODGE
A walk through the heart of the Cairngorms from Braemar to Glen Tilt. Enjoy amazing landscapes and look out for upland wildlife. 15 miles with a river crossing. Bring lunch. BOOKING ESSENTIAL - phone 01796 481355 to book.

Tues 7 July  KITE MAKING
Have a go at making some simple kites and fly them too if it's windy enough. Different designs for different age groups. All materials provided.
