General Guide

What to Wear
The centre provides riding hats for customers without their own. Customers with their own riding hats are advised to wear the safest standards (either PAS 015, 1994 & 1998; BSEN 1384, 1997; EN 1384, 1996; or ASTM F1163, 1998 American Safety Standard).

It is very important that suitable footwear is worn. We do not allow training shoes, basketball style boots or Wellingtons. A shoe or boot with a ½ or 1 inch heel is advised – something similar to a walking boot or desert boot style is preferable.

If it is cold or wet it is always better to wear layers of clothing, and on sunny days wear clothing to protect yourself from sunburn. A pair of riding gloves is also essential, and we can provide gloves if you don’t have your own.

Weight Limit
We have a rider weight limit of 14 stone for beginners and 14.5 stone for experienced riders.

Age Limit
We have a strict age limit of 12 years old and above.

Arrival Time
Beginner riders should arrive 30 minutes prior to the trekking departure time so that we can introduce you to your pony, provide basic instruction and take time to find you the right hat and gloves. Experienced riders should arrive 15-20 minutes before their hack.

Groups
On all treks we have a maximum group size of 8 riders. The centre welcomes group bookings for up to 8 riders, subject to availability and if booked in advance. Groups can also book a photography, nature, Craig Urrard summit or picnic trek on other dates, provided there are a minimum of 4 riders.

For group bookings a deposit of 25% is payable on booking with final payment made on arrival. This deposit is non-refundable. If a cancellation is made within 72 hours of the group trek, the full amount will be charged.
